King was born in 2004 on Throughbred Farm in Kingston, Jamaica. As a yearling he traveled to the Caymens and then onto Trinidad where he began his racing career as a two year old. He did very well until he damaged a tendon. Being the warrior that he is, he went on to win and place in many future races until a fractured cannon bone ended his racing career.

After a two and a half year rest and an attempt to perform in dressage, it was decided he must retire. In February, 2014 after discovering a severe bone bruise in his hoof, his owner contacted Veronika and Lennon and asked if King could come to Tobago and join the Healing with Horses herd to recover and restore. After a 13 hr. trip from Arima, King arrived in Buccoo to meet his new family.

King has beautifully adjusted to his life by the sea enjoying daily swims in the bay, basking in the sun and loving all the attention from the children and visitors who meet him. A perfect white circle on his side is his very special mark and if you know what King loves most as a special treat it is mints!
